Rainy Night Productions is on a mission to create an artistic salon for the people and of the people; creating a theatre that stands against pretension, and a space that is full of noise and spectacle. The focus of our company is to make original theater entertainment accessible to all types of people; to create a space where all feel comfortable expressing their true selves. Our goal is to reacquaint our community to a new experience of theater and to encourage conversations between artists and their audiences.
RNP takes on this task by involving our audiences in the performance. Our theater is rough, loud, and full of brash humor. It is original, daring and draws on the average human experience for inspiration. RNP will be on the lookout for new and interesting voices and will strive to be a hub where people can come together.
RNP has been very successful over the past five years with burlesque projects “Girl Trouble Burlesque” and “Zenzi Burlesque.” We have already successfully reached a diverse audience in terms of age, gender, race, and sexual orientation. We specifically speak to people who do not typically frequent theatre. These audience members often come to be titillated by burlesque and leave inspired and excited by the possibility of what we present. Our vision goes beyond providing entertainment; we also strive to be a productive center where individuals may meet and talk, express themselves and be heard.
